The Supporting Teachers’ English through Mentoring (STEM) project is funded by Innovation for Education, a partnership between the governments of Rwanda and the UK. The pilot project aims to help teachers with their professional development by providing self-study resources and facilitating support groups.
We have partnered with both local government and two non-governmental organisations. The International Education Exchange (IEE) is a non-profit organisation focused on promoting quality education in Rwanda, and the Association of Teachers of English in Rwanda (ATER) seeks to connect teachers for professional development opportunities.
Members of both organisations have benefited from skills development opportunities through training, coaching and practical experience of teacher professional support, monitoring and evaluation activities and materials writing.
