Rwanda Education Board has a strong vision to ensure that all schools in Rwanda have a high quality school leader in place so that every student has the opportunity to benefit from the best possible education. To support this goal, we’ve worked in partnership with Rwanda Education Board (REB) and the Flemish Association for Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance (VVOB) to develop Rwanda’s first National School Leadership Standards.
We have also worked with the UK’s National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) to provide coaching sessions for 18 of Rwanda’s school leaders, and to facilitate an exploration of what the new standards are and how they can be put into practice. This brought together head teachers, policy makers, partner organisations and local education authorities. We will continue to work with NAHT to create links between UK and Rwandan school leaders and to share best practice.
