The British Council has been administering school exams for more than 75 years. We will make sure that everything runs smoothly on the day so that you can concentrate on doing your best. 

There are some important forms and materials that you will need to bring on the exam day. And of course, you need to know about your exams dates, venues and times. You can find all of this information via the links below.

Exam Timetables

To find out what date, what time and where your exam takes place, please refer to your statement of entry issued to you by the British Council Rwanda.

A Statement of Entry is a document that confirms your exam registration. It will include a list of your chosen subjects and the exam dates for each module, as well as your name, date of birth and school.

What to bring on exam day

You can avoid any stress or delays on your exam day by bringing all of the correct forms and equipment. 

BEFORE YOU SET OFF:

  • If you are a school student, wear your school uniform. 
  • Aim to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the exam so that you can relax before it begins. 
  • Allow plenty of time for traffic or travel disruption (and always have an alternative travel plan in mind).

THINGS TO BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM:

  • Personal identification 
  • Statement of Entry
  • pens and pencils in a CLEAR bag
  • basic calculator (of a type approved by your exam board)
  • any extra equipment needed for your subject.

REMEMBER: 

  • No mobile phones, or any other electronic devices, are allowed in exam rooms.
  • Don’t bring valuable belongings.
  • Please note that specific regulations, which may differ from the above, apply to practical, oral, IT and art/design exams.

ID and statement of entry

You need to bring your ID and your Statement of Entry to all examinations.

WHAT COUNTS AS ACCEPTABLE ID?

  • Only the following are acceptable forms of ID: 
  • passport
  • Photographic identification such as a valid passport, driving licence, voting card, student card

If you do not have this, please speak to your teacher or British Council representative well in advance of your exams.
